Student Success Stories
The principles taught in the I Am Sovereign seminars and book are useless unless put into action in real life. Below are success stories from students who have heard one of the I Am Sovereign seminars, or read the book and subsequently applied the principles in a real life situation.
Honesty in Action
Yesterday, at about 9:00pm I realized that I had completely spaced the Student Government Officer Induction Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. I wouldn't have felt as bad if I hadn't been the chairperson. I had planned the event for a good week and even reminded people that morning to come at 5:30 to set up. I was even supposed to bring the punch! I felt like I could just sink into the floor and die. So many things had been going through my head that day that I literally forgot.
At the peak of my distress, my sister called. I told her my dilemma and in return she suggested that I make up a story, "Say you got stuck in traffic on your way back from Logan and couldn't call or say you had car trouble." I couldn't say those things. That was not what had happened. Wrath or no wrath, I had planned the activity and I needed to take responsibility. I called the student government adviser and told her the truth. She told me that they missed me but it ran smoothly so she didn't think to give me a hard time. CAN YOU SAY RELIEF! I was so happy she didn't bite my head off. She understood that I was busy and tired and she appreciated me for telling the truth. All the fear and anxiety had been relieved because I did what was right. I have decided that it is worth it to be honest.
